/məˈmenˌtō/
n. An object kept as a reminder or souvenir of a person or event

MOMENTO proposes the fabrication of unique chairs using salvaged lumber to commemorate events in our everyday lives: a fallen tree in the neighbourhood; an old desk passed down through the family, but then discarded; a boardwalk damaged from a tropical storm. MOMENTO uses salvaged materials as its storytelling medium, giving physical form to memories. Its seat is carved from repurposed plywood, making it unique to each person or place it was built for. Functional and sculptural, utilitarian yet beautiful, this chair embodies the act of remembrance. Bold, angular lines of the steel frame allude to endurance, drive, and direction, all of which are necessary to keep us moving forward. (Baltic birch plywood, steel bar, sheet steel)
