KarcassFallen

Karcass (Cassandra Alves and Kara Logan) | Fallen
Location: Creatures Collective, 822 Dundas St. W.

Karcass deconstructs, creates and restores tables, chairs and other locally sourced objects in Toronto. With a keen interest in up-cycling and repurposed materials, they only use salvaged wood, metal and various scraps to create and build their pieces. This idea bleeds further into their finishing process, where they again maintain an environmentally conscious process. All of their personal pieces are finished using Ontario made hemp oil and beeswax purchased around the corner from their studio.

Fallen is a collection of fallen objects re-assembled to create something functional. Using unwanted fallen trees found in Peterborough and discarded fallen tv antenna towers from downtown Toronto, Fallen replicates the movement of fallen trees both in rural settings and fallen urban “tree-like structures” found in a city. (Fallen logs – Ash and Walnut – and discarded TV antenna mast/towers)
