Wheelers Studio Inc. (Jason Wheeler) | VICE
Location: Sovereign State, 827 Dundas St. W.

Jason Wheeler, originally from Toronto, spent a brief period of time as a model builder before working as a metal fabricator, designing and building high end hot rods and custom cars. Transitioning from working with metal to crafting wood furniture and cabinetry was natural for Jason, and his skill with these two materials has given him a unique vision and aesthetic. His current collections are greatly influenced by industrial designs of the past; though his work has a modern aesthetic, his pride in skilled craftsmanship is evident. Jason has received international recognition for his work.

VICE is named for the “squeezing” together of two materials: unfinished hot-rolled sheet metal and reclaimed wood. The storage unit’s features include one long upper compartment door, which hinges open and recesses into the unit. It is punched with openings that act as cooling vents for equipment and allow for the practical use of remote components. (Hot-rolled steel, reclaimed case)
